Twist and shout of the 1960s has moved on to a more relaxed Tea Dance in the Memorial Hall Minor Hall with music by Danny Feeney. This is a chance for the 1960s generation to return to the Memorial Hall for an afternoon of dance, chat and a little reminiscence. While over at The MEM, perhaps you'd take some time to attend some of the other events around the Walls and make a wee tour of it. Enjoy.
FREE EVENT
Music will pound around the Mem with Disco, pop duo CONNECT, and all the fun of the Garth Fulton Show. This is a popular family night, with something for all the family to enjoy, even if it is only an escape for a wee drink in the 13 Rounds Bar and the Minor Hall. Upstairs the kids will have a night of bouncing music and entertainment from the Garth Fulton Show with balloons and face painting, and cartoon characters joining in the fun.
FREE - Followed by Fireworks Display.
Noisy and exciting fireworks is a perfect end to the kids' day, and to everyone's day. Leave the Memorial Hall with the kids and end the night with a Fireworks Display that provides a celebration of noise and colour, rising above the ancient City Walls. The bright lights shine on the Memorial Hall as a perfect ending to a fun day of great Festival events.
Once the kids are gone, we find out whether or not the Mem's got talent? A late night performance opportunity for anyone who wants to demonstrate their star potential. If you are over 18 and want to win absolutely nothing but the accolades of the audience and fame for the night, please enter by sending a demo CD or DVD/video to Trevor Devenney at the Memorial Hall, 13 Society Street, BT48 6PJ. Alternatively, just turn up on the night. If we're overwhelmed with talent, there may even be a Saturday set aside for auditions. Watch the Festival website for updates.
