Festival favourites, Joleen, Lorna and Karen are three of six sisters from Inishowen in Co. Donegal. Their music has been described as traditional, folk, bluesy, roots, world and contemporary. It is indeed an eclectic mix of their individual and collective musical experiences. The Henry Girls released their first album, Between Us, in 2002 to widespread critical acclaim. It proved a valuable asset as it gave the group access to a wider audience and is now regularly heard on Radio Ulster, Radio Foyle, Highland Radio and RTÉ 1. In 2005, the Henry Girls, along with their guitarist Stephen Murray, made it through to the finals of RTÉ's You're A Star and after a public vote came third out of 5,000 hopefuls in this national competition. Last year they performed an extra session at the Culture Bite with Natty Wailer, and this year hears them fresh from a bluegrass collaboration with The Foxhunt at the Cork Midsummer Festival, June, and the Earigail Arts Festival, July. They've also played the Manchester Irish Festival in March, At Westport in June and will be playing the Northside Festival, Dublin, in August. Their latest album, Dawn, is available.

Like to think of myself a songwriter/musician/poet and producer. My heart got stolen by music when I was a kid, and it's still that way. I spend so much time searching for my new favourite band. I write my records just to document my life. I have NO intention of becoming the 'Next Big Thing' or 'Famous'. But I do want to sell as many records as I can. Personal finance is not the driving force, but mainly because 99% of the time it's hard to Justify the continuation of My Art VS a Real Job; it's a real struggle, and that's why your purchase is really helping me continue. I'm currently working on my 6th Official Record which is going to be called 'Glitter in My Veins'. It's much more than an album though! But my Lips are sealed for the moment! I've been demoing some of the best songs I've ever written. I'm also busy finishing my second poetry book, Working on a live performance DVD, planning my recording studio, setting up Heart Pixels Records, and enjoying life! I wrote and recorded these songs in my own studio, which is called Heart Pixels Studio. myspace.com/daveitferris
A night of great Scottish music and dance. A huge welcome to the Festival for Kintra, the exciting sound of traditional music with a twist. Under the musical direction of renowned fiddle player Matt McGranaghan and co-founder James Kee, Kintra focuses on the shared elements of the Scotch / Irish cultures in a modern and contemporary way, while maintaining respect for the shared heritage. The group's enthusiastic approach to music, song and dance makes it fresh, new and modern, and brings it bang up-to-date. As well as the great sound of Kintra, enjoy a night of dancing with exhibition performances by Bready's Sollus Total Dance and join in with Ceilidh Call for a evening of Scottish country dancing. A great value night out. Starts 8.30pm sharp.
